The woman is Marion Whelden, born NY 1838. She married an admiral, I believe. Portrait was painted 1858 by G.W.A. Jenkins, so she was 20 years old.katrinahttp://shesinthekitchen.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-86254752635474562272010-02-02T06:22:02.637-08:002010-02-02T06:22:02.637-08:00Very romantic mousse, I would say!Very romantic mousse, I would say!lululuhttp://lululuathome.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-68850869647082652212010-02-02T04:31:30.380-08:002010-02-02T04:31:30.380-08:00Hi Katrina! You are an adventurous cook - I've never had rosewater, but sounds intriging.

Also, I had to check out your 365 photo project - really cool. You seem to have a very artistic 'eye'. I was quite interested in the old painting of your ancestor from your Dad. Do you know who it is and who painted it?Barbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-80646076224478612010-01-31T15:30:48.590-08:002010-01-31T15:30:48.590-08:00Thank you, Nana!
