And I should look for that banana bread recipe -thank you! All those liquids you mentioned; buttermilk, sour cream, yogurt ( and sour milk or milk with vinegar) do the trick because the acids interact with the baking soda/powder - so you're good to go with any of them. Thanks - and have a terrific weekend!katrinahttp://shesinthekitchen.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-72383477507322785902010-01-22T13:12:12.467-08:002010-01-22T13:12:12.467-08:00Hi Katrina~ these look delicious and I love lemon ...Hi Katrina~ these look delicious and I love lemon flavor (I think I've mentioned that before. sorry I'm so redundant!) and low-fat is a good thing, too. Guess I'll go bake.

I've made banana bread (from the King Arthur cookbook) and that recipe gives you a choice of yogurt, sour cream or buttermilk and they have all worked really well - so, whatever you have on hand should be good.Barbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-35139280751089700302010-01-22T03:23:39.106-08:002010-01-22T03:23:39.106-08:00Thanks, Chefs! I don't know why, but these muffins, with their puckery tang and pretty drizzles, seem a little like party food to me - yum, yum!katrinahttp://shesinthekitchen.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-21287266031485925942010-01-22T03:19:52.180-08:002010-01-22T03:19:52.180-08:00Karen, I think a restrained hand with lemon extrac...Karen, I think a restrained hand with lemon extract would work - and you can use plain yogurt, buttermilk, or sour milk - all work just fine. I haven't ever used lemon extract, but I do remember it being quite strong, so I would be careful. Glad you enjoyed!katrinahttp://shesinthekitchen.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-5746601537163222142010-01-21T19:19:33.141-08:002010-01-21T19:19:33.141-08:00These look quite tasty - especially with the glaze...These look quite tasty - especially with the glaze!Chef Frescohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10480279339629513684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5850166433308945299.post-62552305857347532392010-01-21T18:54:50.742-08:002010-01-21T18:54:50.742-08:00do you think this would be ok with lemon extract i...do you think this would be ok with lemon extract instead of vanilla and plain yogurt instead of lemon? these sound so great but i don't want to go shopping until sunday!

love your recipes, btw. :)Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04093581317862150939noreply@blogger.com
