rosemary & wild grape focaccia





A few weeks ago, I was visiting my daughter and daughter-in-law when (happily) Anni pulled out a hot, gorgeous - what IS that?  Bread?  Pizza? Cake?- out of the oven.  She cut off a chunk and I tasted the most remarkable whatever-it-was.  Salty and sweet, juicy and toasty.  It turned out to be an amazing soft focaccia made with rosemary, sea salt, sugar, and wild grapes that Anni and just-now 2 year old Frankie had just picked from grapevines beside the road.   She generously packed up half a yogurt container with those fragrant fruits , which I took home - and forgot about in my pneumonia haze.

I found them today .  And guess what I made?

  2. Hope you find some! The grapes I used had been in the fridge a while - a few were wrinkled but all were still juicy and amazingly perfumed. Good luck!

  4. Thanks, Marianne! Doing much better - it just takes time to get your energy back. Breathing is fine, though I still have to use an inhaled medication at night, just to be sure.

  5. Mmmm...wait! You have wild grapes? I happen to have some black grapes in the fridge well past their prime and think they just may be perfect for this. I can taste it now...

  6. Kelly - I would cut them in halves or quarters before using - these wild grapes were teeny! I say, give it a try!
