The soup from your last post looks de-lish! The 'coral' mushroom is fascinating - it really does look just like the piece of coral I have. we have had some really large mushrooms pop up in our yard, but nothing quite that interesting, Don't you just love nature???

Thanks, Barb, the soup was fabulous! And every Fall I'm just amazed at the mushrooms I've seen along with a mushroom guide - electric blue, black ( several of those) sulphur yellow.....I still stick to white mushrooms from the store, but sure do enjoy Nature's mushroom rainbow.

There are many morel mushroom hunters in MI. However, they guard their locations very carefully - so I'm with you, I only eat mushrooms from the market. I've never seen mushrooms in those amazing colors - WOW! Even if you can't eat them, what a treat to see them!

Happy October to you!

Morels! That's what I first thought those sea sponges were - I'm sure they're here, because of the oak trees, but I've only found one. Chanterelles are supposed to be here as well.
Hope your weekend is wonderful - enjoy!
